On Tuesday 5th December our school football team played in the first round of the Doherty Cup against a strong Hezlett Primary School team. On a cold, dry winter's afternoon both teams fought hard, eager to secure a place in the next round of this prestigious trophy.
By half-time, plenty of goals had been scored in this entertaining fixture, four in all! With the game well set at two goals apiece, there was a real tension amongst family members, friends and staff. Our team were ice cool on the pitch however and ran out 4-2 winners in a fine second half performance.
Best of luck to a strong, hard-working Hezlett side who will now enter the Doherty Shield. Our ISPS team can now look forward to a quarter-final tie in the Doherty Cup for the first time in over five years. We are extremely proud of all pupils involved!
